On November 3rd, I worked out in the morning for around 15 minutes, mainly doing strength exercises and I at an apple in the morning. Then for lunch I had pumpkin ravioli and crackers with Laughing Cow cheese. Later, I went to my school's senior banquet and ate food that was offered at the buffet (which was not the healthiest food but I tried to select carefully). I grabbed some salad, tilapia, and a little bit of pasta. Then I danced on the dance floor, which I count as cardio exercise. I got back to the school really late and slept pretty late, but luckily there was no school the next day so I was able to still get eight hours of sleep. I had about 5 cups of water that day, which I know is not a lot and I definitely felt that. All in all it was a pretty healthy day and I consider it a success.
On November 4th, I worked out in the morning again and I had a grapefruit for breakfast (I just realized I like to eat a lot of fruit in the morning). Then for lunch I had pumpkin ravioli again and I am most likely going to have it for the rest of the week so heads up for that. Later in the afternoon I twisted my ankle so I was very limited on my movements so I was not able to get in any cardio workouts, which is unfortunate and I have no idea how soon I will be able to do the normal exercises that I like to do. My ankle does not hurt that bad so hopefully I will be able to be back to normal pretty soon but I probably will not know until tomorrow. For dinner I had some chili that my dad made with some rice. My water intake was pretty good today; I had eight cups of water and I feel very hydrated, which I have noticed really affects my mood. I find that I am lot more energized and happy when I am well-hydrated. Aside from my hurt ankle, it was a pretty good day. I am just worried as to how active I can be in the next few days. Maybe I will feel better once I sleep.
Let me know how you are doing!

A New Beginning
For a while I have wanted to get in shape and tone my body; however, my mind has been plagued with excuses that have restricted me from working out. So now, I have decided to really commit and start a much healthier lifestyle. I am making it official on my blog because I feel that if I share about my change in lifestyle, then I am more obligated to actually change and stick to being more fit and healthy. To motivate me even further, I have created a fitness journal and everyday I will document what I ate, my workout, what time a went to sleep and woke up, and my water intake.
My first page consists of the changes that I am going to make (they are more like rules that I am going to follow but rules sounds really strict and scary so I am just calling them "changes").
I am very excited to start this new healthier and happier journey and I will try and blog everyday (cannot fully promise it, though) about how I am doing for about 12 weeks. Hopefully you can also start with me and if you already started, then let me know how you are doing and we can motivate each other and be on this journey together!
Tomorrow, November 3, 2014 will be my first journal log! This is exciting!!

Seeing Silver
Sweater: H&M
Shirt: Neiman Marcus
Pants: Abercrombie & Fitch
Shoes: Tory Burch
Necklace: TJ Maxx
Bracelet: Alex + Ani
Watch: Michael Kors
There are days where I like to stick to one color palette and have a "monochromatic" look; however, wearing one single color and be too much for some people so a tip that I have is to work with different shades and textures to create dimensions so it does not seem like you are wearing one color. In my outfit I worked with a gray color palette and added dimension by having a textured sweater and a shirt that had a silver finish. I paired them with basic dark grey (although in the photo they almost look black) and black flats so the focus of the outfit was on the contrast of the shirt, sweater, and necklace.
Hope you guys liked my look!

Sightseeing
Sweater: Zara
Dress: Rag & Bone
Shoes: Steve by Steve Madden
Necklace: Gift from my mother
Bracelet: Topshop
Purse: BCBG MaxAzria
Whenever I go sightseeing, I make sure I wear something comfortable so I am focusing what I am seeing other than my outfit. My usual choice is a loose-fitted dress as seen here, and I love wearing them because it is so effortless but since it is a dress, the outfit automatically looks put together.
BTW, I was in Rockefeller Center and I stopped by Bouchon Bakery to grab a quick bite and I got this peach dessert (I forget what it is called) and it was so delicious! I highly recommend checking the bakery out whenever you are in the area!

Strolling Around the City
Sweater: Zara
Shirt: Free People
Shorts: J Brand
Shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti
Bag: BCBG Max Azria
Necklace: Charming Charlie
Watch: Michael Kors
Ring: A local boutique
This is the outfit that I was wearing on the first day of my New York City trip (as seen in this post). The sweater makes it easy to take on and take off when walking around the city just in case I get to warm or too cold, and the shoes are actually very comfortable so it makes walking around the city very easy to do! Hope you liked it!

Adventures in New York City: Part 2
The latte was so good that I completely forgot to take an up close picture of what it first looked like...so here is a half-drunken (actually more like basically finished) cup of my coffee.
Afterwards my family and I made our way to the Grand Central Terminal and as I was walking I just had to take more pictures of the city.
Grand Central Terminal is so beautiful and I highly recommend checking it out!
Then we went to Soho to do some shopping and we hit up (another) Bloomingdale's.
Side note: they were having a giant sale which is why we went there a second time ;-)
We decided to treat ourselves to some macarons from the one and only Ladurée.
For lunch we went to Harney and Sons teahouse and I had the most delicious tea in the entire world: Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea. If you really love cinnamon I recommend trying this out and you do not need to add any sugar because it is sweet on its own.
My lunch was a delicious cheese platter and the presentation was just exquisite!
We then hit up Central Park and it is just amazing. It is a great place to go if only seeing buildings, streets, and cars gets tiring.
The squirrel is like "U MAD BRO?"
We saw a black squirrel and thought it was the coolest thing in the entire world.
We finished our jam-packed day and our trip in the amazing Rockefeller Center. It is definitely an essential place to visit in New York City and I am currently counting down the days when I can come back.

Adventures in New York City: Part 1
Waiting at the train station to go to my favorite city in the entire world! (Outfit details coming soon...)
Mainly spent the entire day on Fifth Avenue. I love to look around and see all the windows because it is always so well decorated. My current favorite is the Tiffany and Co window because I love how they played with shadows to create a really beautiful window. I especially love this one with the girl looking at the bracelet. From far away it is really subtle but up close you can really see all the details.
Then we walked around to Bloomingdales because they were having a really great sale and decided to check it out. Also, department stores in New York City are more fascinating then the ones back home.
For dinner we went to Fig and Olive which is my favorite restaurant on Fifth Avenue and I had the seared Yellowfin Tuna and it was delicious! I highly recommend eating at Fig and Olive!
At night the city is always so beautiful and I could not resist taking more photos!
